Where My Heart Has Been
Mindfulness with Children
I had the privilege of teaching preschool children mindfulness in the classroom. We learned how to calm our big emotions, focus our attention, grow our inner strengths and cultivate empathy and compassion. Each child took what they needed from the practices into their own lives to increase their confidence and love for each other.
Speaking to Youth and Women
I spent time in Youth church groups as well as Women's groups teaching the basics of mindfulness and the importance of being aware of our thoughts. Our thoughts are the catalyst to the emotions we feel, and the actions we take, which shape our reality. At the end of each of each session, I would guide them through a meditation that would help them connect with their higher power and themselves.
This year my focus has been on helping women. There is so much noise in the world, and it can lead to unhealthy comparisons and feelings of being "not enough". Women are the glue that hold societies together. They tend to be the primary nurturers, and so most of their time and attention is directed at trying to regulate others emotions and needs. Together we help you find peace in motherhood, strength in your capabilities, and trust in your inner voice.
